Staged Reading of Wise will be performed on Saturday, April 19 at Eubie Blake Cultural Center.

Wise takes place after American Nazis beat up Jews on the streets of New York before World War Two. A judge and a rabbi ask the leading Jewish mobster to teach them a lesson. The question arises about how far can good go to challenge evil before it becomes evil itself? When does justice become revenge? And is it a good deed – indeed, a mitzvah – to punch a Nazi? Wise is based on true events.

The cast includes:

Perlman – Colton Farnham

Charles – Patrick Gray

Stephen Wise – Doug Krehbel

Fritz Kuhn – Michael McGee

Isaac – Christopher Raglin

Meyer Lansky – David Rothman

Ivy – Sarah Lynn Taylor

Louise – Lauren Tobiason

BPF staged reading performances are free and we encourage everyone to attend and bring a friend to see the remaining staged readings that are taking place during the BPF’s Season 44.
